2. Isn't that something?
A very strange life, and an enigmatic death. It is in no way pleasant, but it seems somehow apropos.

3. For real?
:wow:

I knew he wasn't doing too good health-wise, lately...

He revolutionized music, had truckloads of great songs in his prime...

Considering his upbringing, he accomplished a hell of a lot.

It's still unclear if he did molest children, or if he was overly fond of them in some weird protective way because he did not want to see children harmed. Until anything's conclusive, my usual feelings on child molesters can't apply. He was still nuts, but the man was a genius and set trends. Not corporate sponsored wannabe trends. I mean, real trends.

5. I probably shouldn't spread conjecture but...
There are whispers that he committed suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills.

CNN has yet to verify his death, keep in mind.

18. And if it was FOX, they'd affix a "(D)" next to his name.
MJ was a (R) and everyone knew it... :P

Or would FOX be right for once?

38. Not at all, actually.
I think he cared about and for children. Too much to be bothered with getting on a political bandwagon and going down that route. (he spared himself some pain, at least.)

Not in a sexual way, did he care about/for children. But in a protective way; to protect their innocence. That's my observation.

He went overboard by letting children sleep next to him in bed... but that in of itself is not molestation. Nor was molestation proven.

Off-balanced for using children like teddy bears to snuggle up with, perhaps, but that is not molesting sexually. Again, that 'protective' slant he seemed to have for children.

But every time I watch an interview clip -- what he says and how he says it -- it comes across sincerely.

He had issues, that's obvious.

But I don't think he was a molesting monster.

As a child, I was victimized by child molesters. I don't sense that from MJ. NAMBLA, certainly, but not MJ.

21. This morning right before I woke, I dreamed about Michael Jackson
Edited on Thu Jun-25-09 05:22 PM by Whoa_Nelly
I told my new roommate about the dream this AM over coffee:
(am living with an old HS chum in Tucson now...moved here last Thursday)

I was in a funeral home. The place was huge, many large rooms, much like a big house with high walls, ornate moldings, but open with caskets of dead people on showing lined against the walls so people could walk through and view all. As I was walking through and looking at all the different casket settings (some had draperies around them, almost a gypsy like effect), I heard Michael Jackson singing a new song with a Samba beat. I saw him singing, and there were four black men singing back up, and dressed in black dress pants with double rowed red piping down the outside legs and short, almost bolero/waiter type jackets, also in black with double rowed red piping around the edges. There was a huge carpeted area in front of them all, and a snack bar for visitors behind them. I was drawn to the room to listen to the music and watch Micheal sing. When he saw me, he started the music over again so I could dance to it. Suddenly, I had on a colorful patterned full circle skirt with lots of petticoats, and an off shoulder matching blouse. When Michael started the song over, I began to dance. About halfway through, some man came through a door, grabbed me by the waist and danced with me, spins and Samba dance moves, ending with the dip.

The dream ended there. After waking, I sang the tune to the song to my friend after telling her the dream. It was a lively and fun dream, especially having Michael singing his new song just for me. I still hear the tune, and as soon as my jammed thumb (jammed during the move...) is healed, I had already decided I would bring that tune to life through my guitar.

RIP, Micheal.
Your music has been a part of my life since I was young.
Your music was a big part of my dance career and jazz dance teaching classes.
Your music will continue.
The dance moves on

36. The threes.....there is some weird truth to this when it comes to celebrities
Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson

'bout the only shock here is Michael Jackson, whom I read about being admitted to the hospital earlier on with chest pain....only to learn it was a cardiac arrest.

this is some heavy shit to take in right now.
