Whatever you do, never rent from Enterprise Rent A Car
Especially when the branch you go to has incompetent people working there who do not understand that the $100 deposit you gave them should go back to your check card once you return the car. I am so upset right now. Ok thanks for reading this PSA.

1. Sorry that happened to you.
I've had good experience with Enterprise, and no ignorant employees.

2. Ditto on all three.
Sorry that happened to you, I've had good experiences with Enterprise and no ignorant employees.

I live kind of out in the country and the closest Enterprise is about 15 miles away and they will still come and get me when I need a rental car. And their drivers are usually cute.

9. Likewise. At the local branch, I found their customer service to be excellent.

4. I have always had very good luck with Enterprise
is there a corporate office you can call instead of dealing with incompetent people at the office you rented from?

5. All rental car companies suck
I rented a car once from Avis that had a small chip on the windshield. I brought this to the attention of the person at the desk and they said not to worry about it as they already knew about it. One month later I noticed a $350 charge on my credit card. I called them up and they claimed they had the window replaced. I bitched, they ignored me. If you read the fine print on your rental agreement, you'll find you agreed to be charged for any damages. So they can just place the charge on your card without your permission. There's no way I would give a rental car company my debit card. They could wipe your checking account out and you'd have little recourse.

I keep a credit card with a $500 limit that I use exclusively for rental cars. I do rent from Enterprise all the time, mainly because they are the only company that deals with the small airports that I often fly into. I've never had a bad experience with them, but then again I never deal with their employees directly.

7. Did you fill out the pre-rental damage assessment?
If so, and you noted that on there, you can bust their asses. Otherwise, they'll screw you any way possible.

8. I didn't worry about it since they claimed they already knew about it
In retrospect, they were just trying to get rid of me at the time. Certainly if I had thought they were going to screw me, I would have gotten them to acknowledge the damage prior to leaving the lot.

6. I remember it taking an hour to return my car at an Enterprise in my hometown.
But they were the only game in town. The car was fine, it was just hell going through the process of returning it.
