different pattern. I guess they're mimicking a toxic, icky-tasting relative to fool the birds.

I get a lot of them in my yard and love keeping tabs on their transformation!

I'm guessing a gardener would take a dimmer view of these creatures, however - I'm pretty sure my mom would burst into flames at that second picture... :)

15. I am a gardener
but this was a pot of "volunteer" dill that I had transplanted from my herb garden. I have plenty more, and I was happier that they were confined to that pot and not my herb patch.

P.S. Now I'm down to two. The others wandered off to cocoon elsewhere.
