I brought my new horse home on Thursday (pics)
When I say "home," I mean she is now at a nearby boarding facility - I unfortunately don't have a place to keep her at home. But this place is good - lots of riding rings and round pens and miles of trails.

I am so happy! I've ridden and owned horses all my life but it's been 10 years since the last one (I can't believe I let that amount of time go by!) and I'm a person who NEEDS a horse. Bella is a 4 year old Thoroughbred, a great-granddaughter of Seattle Slew, she never raced so she doesn't have any track habits, she's well started under saddle, just green and in need of a lot of hours work to learn the ropes and she's got a great personality. Settled right in without a fuss and now, 2 days later, looks for my arrival with anticipation and gives me nose-nuzzles and head bumps. :loveya:

My Bella -

She likes her chow - it was tough getting a pic with her head up!

Ooh! She raised her head! Quick, get a pic!

And a face shot - the sun was shining behind her so it's not the best but she has a very pretty face.

3. I have an irrational fear of horses.
She is gorgeous. I hope you have many happy years together.

My in-laws have horses and have tried to get me to ride. I can't do it. I did sit on one of their horses last summer LOL .. I KNOW the horse knew I was scared.

11. Beautiful! I used to have a Quarter Horse/Morgan gelding with that coloring.
Almost exactly. He had a little star on his face, and a snip on his nose, and he had one white sock, not two. :) He turned darker in summer and then almost bay in winter. Good times, good times ... Bella is gorgeous! Congrats! :hi:
