If Wayne Dyer has overcome ego, how come every third word out of his mouth is "I" or some
Edited on Fri Jun-12-09 05:54 PM by Mike 03
anecdote about how he healed or cured or helped someone, or how he mingles with rich and famous people, or the tons of miracles that follow him wherever he goes, or that he lives in giant mansions all over the U.S. and Hawaii, or is some advert for where you can buy his movies, books and CDs?

Don't get me wrong; I believe that he has some valuable things to say. But every interview he does is about himself.

The Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa, Gandhi and other spiritual leaders never said: I'm enlightened. They were humble.

1. I have conflicting thoughts about him
I think he's a nice man. I also think we're all confused about what ego really is. Sometimes I think that those who are brave enough to go out and tell others what they really think have to have an egotistic streak to help them. I also think people get twisted and get tunnel vision when they are sure they are the only one with the "right answer." He's doing what he's here to do which in my opinion is getting people to consider thinking about things differently.

2. Yea I think anyone that says they are enlightened are missing the whole concept of it.
But I could be wrong.

I actually like Steven Colbert's way that he manages his ego, he just goes over the top and lets people laugh with him as they laugh at the stuff he says.

However I have never heard of Wayne Dyer, so not sure of his issues. But I think we all have issues with ego, its a bit tempting to change basic self like into false pride.

(Note: Number of times I used 'I' in this post... 9 times.)

I know I have ego issues at times also, so I try to still look favorably on other people with that same fault.
