Tell me when things will get better
I want to know.

So many people are losing their jobs and homes.

Two customers today, in a row, told me very sad stories.

I am feeling the pulse of the nation...

and it is getting weak. :-(

1. Four Years.
Two more years of decline.

Followed by two years of stagnation.

Then the upswing to better times.

We've been laid very, very low.

3. I honestly don't think we can survive two more years of decline
Not without irreversible harm.

I hope you are wrong.

But I do agree... we have been laid very, very low. Ignorant * and his greedy administration. :-(

5. This is going to sound like pie-in-the-sky, HG, but they're already getting better.
Just having Barack Obama in office, as opposed to one of the repukes, is the best we can hope for right now. In the troubled regions of the world, people longing for a better tomorrow are voting out the sick, bloodthirsty hard-liners and voting in people of good faith and character who want to improve international relations.

After a long time lost in the tall grass, this country is setting the example in international relations again.

I know this is not helping people find jobs or hang onto their homes; but I think the guy in charge is the guy who can begin to solve our domestic economic woes.

We need time. I think he'll use it wisely...

6. Thanks
I know we have to be in a better situation without the repukes in office. Though I wish a full-blown effort would be made to create jobs.

And then there is the unsettling feeling I have, in my job, hearing an increasing number of these stories. Six months ago it was one or two a week. Now it seems like I hear a half dozen "down & out" stories a day.

Have you heard anything, at all, about limiting the practice of offshoring? Have you heard of any large-scale building projects yet? I am not being critical. I am just getting very, very concerned.

7. Most of what I've heard is related to banks feeling confident enough to start lending again.
I don't know to whom, or at what rates, but that's a start. They must feel fairly certain that they will be repaid, so that must mean someone somewhere is starting on the road back up.

Pretty thin, I know, but like a lot of people, I'm looking for any sign...
