K. Here's the deal. I'm happy to do round EIGHTEEN of the revisions on your
brochure. Remember, you're paying me by the hour while you fuck around changing two sentences per page back and forth. So, as far as I'm concerned, I'll go to round 100 if you're willing to pay $10,000 for something that isn't even getting printed, just distributed as a pdf.

However...

You can't give me one revision per week, ignore my emails for days on end, then send another revision and expect me to be sitting at my computer waiting to make it and send it back to you within the hour. I have other clients. I can't live off of this project (especially since I have no idea when it will be actually finished so I can invoice for it).

Thank you lounge for letting me vent.

Happy Friday!

2. Some clients
are just not worth the aggravation.

Stick to your limits!

fabulous and organized and totally get what design is about. Others are not so much... but everyone is nice, just a little clueless sometimes. The client always pays on time and never quibbles about hours, so I put up with the bullshit. I just have to vent on DU once in awhile. :)

5. Hourly is good, isn't it?
She is going to be in for a rude awakening when she sees how much all this dicking around is costing her. I'm looking forward to that check!

6. And then they wonder what happened!
Scrutinize the invoice, doubt the number of hours logged, get all confused, and then give up when they realize it was all their fault.

I still remember the eight rounds I went with the president of a science education company about "compartmented" vs. "compartmentalized" (describing geology specimen boxes). I won. Had to look it up in a (hard cover) dictionary and only got him to shut up because the example for "compartmented" was LITERALLY "compartmented boxes".

7. I gave up trying to correct their grammar after round 8 or so. Apparently they have
some kind of corporate language all their own, but it certainly isn't English. LOL! I had to gently point out that there is only one Wednesday in a week so a sentence like "...on every XYZ Wednesday of the week." is more than a little redundant.

Luckily so far this client as a whole (I work for different people in the company) pays without quibbling about hours. Of course, I can just see this woman being the first one to start asking questions. My invoice is going to be VERY detailed, with notations for each round of changes on each date.
