RIP David Carradine.
Found dead in Bangkok hotel room, suicide by hanging.

To live all the way into his early 70's and then just give up. How sad. :(

I wish his soul peace.

7. I totally don't think it was suicide. It was an accident
Seems that plenty of males are into this thing -- it's apparently similar to what "the kids" are into these days

Scary shit

12. I agree that its just so wrong....
The only thing that I can imagine of why people would do this is no different than what lead people to experiment with more and more and different kinds of drugs that have more powerful effects than the last drug they took. It has to do with addictions, with trying to achieve a feeling that exceeds the other.

Its the crossing into the next zone that I think drives someone to go there....sadly, I don't think anyone, drug addict or someone who pursues satisfaction and orgasm through strangulation and being unconsious will ever find the true bliss they seek so desperately...

13. sadly, you are so right

A very close friend of mine died of a cardiac infection that he contracted while travelling in Kenya. He was travelling in Kenya because he became a ketamine addict, and that was the only place he could acquire it in the quantities he wanted. At the time of his death, a doctor said he was using enough to tranquilize a lion. It was having barely any effect on him

He was actually working on a book about addiction and religion when he just went to sleep and never woke up. He was 32.

15. It is also the search for an "even greater high than the last" that sadly makes the risk so high
I am sorry for the loss of your friend....enough Ketamine to tranquilize a lion...and had he made it past that conditioning and tolerance phase, he would have probably eventually been seeking out enough Ketamine to tranquilize an elephant. Sadly, I too have lost two friends to drugs - one to heroine, the other cocaine. And each of them followed that phase of needing to seek the even greater high than the last until they overdosed. Its why the whole search of an orgasmic high in asphixation in sexual orgasm is so risky - because in searching for the even greater high, the risk of death becomes greater.

I hope your friend found some peace in his last days, especially as he wrote his book. Sadly, the addiction won out before he could conquer it.

16. Thanks for your kind words....
Yes, he was always in search of "something bigger and better" than the last time...

He first became a Hassidic Jew, hoping that would bring him closer to god - problem is he looked for god in drugs most of the time. So he tried going straight, and it didn't work for him. During the Israel/Lebanon conflict three years ago, his home in northern Israel was bombed and he discovered ketamine in an army first aid kit. He used it to help treat injured civilians, and then tried it himself. It was his downfall....
