So the court terminated visitation..... FINALLY!!
Edited on Mon Jun-01-09 08:31 PM by belladonna
Until at LEAST August 4th anyway. In the meantime, Maggie will see a therapist who will also bring him in after a few visits and assess their interaction, then make a recommendation to the court. I got some advice that I need to mull over too... if I'm willing to pay for it, they can order a psych evaluation on him. I'm seriously thinking I should do it... gotta check out the cost first and see if it's even doable.

Still though, Maggie's hell is over, at least for a good long while :)

Edited cause I seem to have forgotten how to form a sentence :P

4. It really is
I never, ever thought I'd say such a thing either, but the guy has serious problems and Maggie was being affected in a really bad way. If nothing else, this might force him to get the help he so desperately needs. He acted really strange in court about the whole thing as well, so I'm thinking that, if I'm willing to pay for it, the judge will probably be quite willing to order that psych evaluation.

8. Yay!
As for the eval, I'd talk over the advantages and disadvantages with your lawyer.

11. Yeah, that's why I'm mulling it over
I'm going to work from home tomorrow, so I think I might just call my lawyer up and see what he thinks about it. He's sort of unofficially giving me advice right now, thank god, cause I honestly can't afford him at the moment. I don't really think it could hurt anything, but I'm not all that sure it'll help either and it could end up being fairly expensive as well.

13. The only down side is that they put off deciiding if I can relocate
It's on the back burner for awhle, but hey, the most important person is taken care of and that's all that matters.

Besides, it's like 1000 degrees in Florida right now.

NOT that I'd not like you to visit.

16. I'm still planning a short trip down in July to visit my brother
That and to do a bit more scouting of the hospitals and clinics down around Lakeland and Tampa. Maybe we can grab a drink or something while I'm there??

12. Yeah, I've actually been a little more wary
There's still a protective order in place as far as I go.. it was only amended for purposes of the visitation, but still. I'm being a little more cautious right now, not to worry.

18. Congratulations!
I hope the therapist will be observant and see what needs to be seen. I hope you can get that psych evaluation. And I hope a lot of healing starts now from all of this.

19. Phew. And I'd get that psych eval, stat.
If you honestly can't fit it into your budget, I'm sure you could take up a collection here.
