A poem....The Thing That Would Not Heal
Edited on Sun May-31-09 02:17 PM by Rising Phoenix
It hurts when it says hello
It bleeds when it says goodbye
Then it will spike a fever and fall
And it doesn't even know why
It wakes up in pain
And throughout the day
It's energies wane
It needs to rest
Yes to rest is best
It rests, and rests and rests
Thinking someday
It will finally get
Enough
Fucking
Rest
The pain in it's chest
A panic attack
A diseased lung
A broken heart
A breast reduction
The pain in it's chest
Is nothing compared
To it's never ending quest - to be well
But there is a rash
It itches
It bitches
It peels
It is inflamed
And who is blamed?
Why, of course, it's brain
Its brain?
Its head?
But its just been
Laying here in bed
Like the rest of it
Like it always does
Going nowhere
Being here
And never there
It isn't fucking fair
It is almost too
Much to bare
It is the thing that
Would not heal
It will always feel
Bad
Somewhere
Its head, its belly, its heel
It will never be free
It will always be me
It is the thing that
Would not heal
It may be high
It may never sigh
But it will not be well
Yet it will never die
And so it lay down
To cry, to cry and
Cry and cry
But that just
Made it's nose all
Stuffed up

edited for grammar....thank you!

1. I like that.
Very good.

But it will heal; it will.

3. Truly, one day out of the blue -
you'll suddenly realize that it's gone.

5. Time heals all wounds -
it's a cliche, but it's true.

Or the karma version - time wounds all heels...:P

6. I know it is true
and, thankfully, the majority of my emotional wounds are healed....

it is those damn physical ones that keep popping up......
