Would it be improper to email a judge during a trial?
Edited on Tue May-26-09 08:01 PM by Mike 03
I'm just so impressed by the fairness, tolerance, intelligence and patience of this judge in charge of the N.J. State Trooper trial, and I'm upset with how he is being mistreated by the defense attorney, I have this urge to write him and just let him know how much I respect him.

He has made some unpopular opinions but I think he is dead on, and I appreciate how he is running this well-publicized trial. He is doing so much better than other judges I have seen over the years.

Would that be fair and proper, or would it just be another pain the butt for the judge?

1. As long as you're not involved in the case
it sounds like a good idea.

3. Thanks for your opinion! I was guessing I was going to get really beat up on this one.
Thank you.

I will see if I can find a way to properly email him.

Thank you again.

2. As long as you CC the judge's boss too
I'm sure the judge would appreciate it.

4. I did a internet search and couldn't find it anyway. Struck out.
I feel bad. He's definitely doing his best, and I just wanted him to know that somebody appreciates his intelligence, knowlege of the law, patience and how hard it must be to abjudicate a case like this on TV in front of the world.

5. You might try the Supreme Court of NJ, or perhaps the governor's office
That's very cool that you want to do that. I'm sure the judge will appreciate it.

7. Why not wait until after the case is over?
Most judges have their email and other communications screened anyway, but waiting certainly won't detract from your viewpoint and it won't raise any red flags on anyone's part.
