I hate sports ...
always have. My father took me to a pro-football game once as a kid, and I fell asleep. He still brings it up.

March Madness? Sorry, but I don't give a sh*t. :boring:

He was just trying to get you into what he likes. Just being a Dad. No biggie.

5. Going to football games with my dad
is one of the greatest memories I have of child(and adult)hood. I grew up loving football, and probably always will for that shared experience alone.

But to each his own, I guess.

10. Do you hate team sports, or *all* sports?
Is it watching sports that bothers you, or do you not care to participate in a sport of your choosing, either? Even the more "solitary" sports, such as track, golf and swimming? (And not necessarily watching these on TV, either -- they can be a colossal snore.)

I admit that I've been burned out on American football for years now, and cannot stomach it on TV, always with the 3 announcers cross-talking in the booth, etc. I also admit that I don't follow basketball much either these days --not enough time to get involved with such a long season.

But I still enjoy baseball on the radio, for example. (In Los Angeles, we still have the same Dodgers announcer, Vin Scully, that was around when I was a kid, which is nothing short of amazing.)

If you lived in a small town, say, would you enjoy taking in a minor-league or NCAA baseball game? This kind non-hyped, lesser scale contest can be a lot of fun.

Is it the idea of competition that turns you off? Whatever it is, you are not alone, and you'll not be judged for wanting to do something else with your time.

:toast:

12. I just ...
... don't like sports. Watching them, participating in them, competition -- all of it. I was a fat, four-eyed, nerd in school and I sucked at sports (that is probably why I don't like them to this day) I find them impossible to sit through, either live, on TV or radio. I also don't like all the hype that surrounds sports. Even the Olympics.

thanks for trying to understand.

(people may think I'm full of it, but I really didn't mean to upset or anger anyone with this thread. Sorry if I did) :(

13. Understood. My older brother doesn't connect with sports, either...
And it's no big deal.

I do enjoy some sports, but it's pretty limited. I had a similar problem in grade school and middle school -- I was so skinny I could have been passed through a keyhole, and was sickly to boot. I obviously sucked at all contact sports. In high school, I ran cross-country and track, it was kind of a "zen" thing and I could get into it on a very personal, individual level. But the idea of competition has always left me cold.

Until the more recent (steroid) years, baseball was cool in that there were always all kinds of guys playing it -- skinny, chubby, short, tall, glasses wearers, guys missing a hand or toes (or even a limb), etc.

But not to worry -- there's still still a heck of a lot to do and talk about in this world other than sports!

:hi:

15. thank you
I appreciate it.

(I have to admit, I was drinking before I posted that, but those are my true feelings about sports. I guess i should think first before I post)

11. I don't necessarily hate sports but they bore me to death...
the company I have been working for until Jan 1st of this year was the one that owns the New England Patriots, now, maybe I had a soft spot for Robert Kraft's son, Jonathan, but when he gave his annual address at our work thingy, I kind of lost it when he said stuff about how Bush's tax cuts were like beneficial?? I was like choking in the aisle...Anyway, they own the NEPatriots, and I was once owned by them..now I am not...which is even worse...long story that...
