Adventures with my camera: Good news and bad news...
The shutter wasn't working right, so I took it in. The good news? I've got my camera back, and they only charged me what they quoted just to look at it!

The bad news? The reason they only charged me that was because they didn't find anything wrong with it.

Maybe I was just being sloppy with the focusing...it won't let you take a picture unless it's focused on something.

I don't know...

It's got to be OK, because we're leaving on our vacation in two weeks...

1. Is it a digital camera?
Because usually you push the button halfway to focus and then push it all the way to shoot.

I've had problems sometimes getting it to focus because I was too close or something and then it wouldn't snap the picture.

3. It is digital, and normally I have no problem focusing...
I've had problems like yours too...

But it seemed different this time.

I dunno!

Hi, alarimer!

13. I don't know that much about cameras.
I usually use the "Auto" setting because I know nothing about f-stops and all that but I have accidentally turned the dial so it was set on something else and then my pictures looked bluish. I have no idea why.

Hi back!

6. Yeah, if it's too close/not in focus/too dark the shutter won't snap.
What camera do you have? Usually they have a troubleshooting guide in the manual.

2. My camera is going in when I can find money.
I called 'em and they said it could run $250+.

It's a problem with the sensor and something is blocking the picture, so it is half black.

If that makes sense.

I've heard about stuff like that, too...

Sensor problems are most vexing...

Sorry, sweetie!

5. Thanks.
Glad your camera is ok. I want mine for summer, so hopefully I get the money soon.

Though my birthday is next week, so maybe I'll clean up there. :D

7. I HOPE it's OK!
I mean, they didn't find anything...

Our vacation is VERY important, and I won't be able to have anyone fix it while we're gone...going to Europe...

So...

My fingers are crossed!

I hope you clean up on your birthday too!

11. It's a river cruise...
From Switzerland to Hungary...

We travel on the Rhine, the Main, the Danube, and a canal who's name I forget...

I'll be gone about 3 weeks, and you can believe I know how lucky I am!

We leave the 20th of May...

Return June 8th...

I will most likely have a farewell thread...

its not the words that are hard...its the colour, its the the flesh of it thats hard to hold in a moment of clarity and undignified surrender to everything around you, like when you know the world changed in a moment but only for you and nobody sees it feels it like you....a hard painting to paint, just keep painting,I think god or whatever you believe god to be will like the picture.
All my best to ya darlin......you're a goodin as we say.
