DUers in long term relationships but not married.....
How do you reference your boyfriend/girlfriend/lifepartner?

Significant Other sounds like someone who co-signed a loan for you...
girlfriend/boyfriend makes you sound like you're 15....

"Oh, that's funny, me and my ________________________________________________ went to that same restaurant last week."

11. I try not to violate his privacy by using something so identifying.
On the off chance anybody here doesn't know who my boyfriend/significant other/life partner/fuckbuddy is, I probably shouldn't tell them that it's idiot6.

3. It's kind of complicated in my situation....
and significant other actually fits pretty well. We're together, and (AFAIK exclusive)... But we don't live together or have joint accounts or anything like that.

Or his name. For the reasons you stated.

Of course, there are many days when 'that idiot' fits too.

5. Oh man, don't get me started...
We will be together 6 years in July.

it bounces back and forth between my girlfriend and my wife. And the same goes for me. It's a running joke that we both get a kick out of, but under Texas law there are very clear guidelines as to what justifies common law marriage. We more than fit the description.

13. Please direct your "free advice" to the general population, thank you.
I didn't use the term and I find it highly offensive and by you responding to my post, you direct your "free advice" toward me.

So I will thank you very much not to include me in with your bits of wisdom.

You are now blocked.

There's plenty of time so we're not in any hurry.

I refer to her as my ladyfriend.
