She bugs me to reuse baggies, BAGGIES!!!! Anything that a sandwich went in is a non-starter, but she wants me to reuse baggies that she send my snacks in, like pound cake (home made heaven) cookies and such. What the hell!?! How much could a baggie cost?!?! Isn't this a food poisoning risk?

What is next? Erasing paper plates!?!? Should I have her committed?

1. Those baggies clutter the enviroment when they are tossed away
I reuse my baggies all the time. I usually eat the same thing everyday and use baggies to bring my crackers and almonds in to work for lunch (and btw I put them in the same bag too.) I'll take that bag home each night and reuse it a few more times before I toss it.

Provided I don't have something gross & messy in it, I'll reuse my baggies. Of course if it is gross & messy I have little tupperware-style containers that I can just wash out when finished.

4. My dear denbot!
Your beloved wife is ENTIRELY correct!

We wash ours, and reuse them till they get a tear, or get gross ...

It isn't the cost...it's the fact that these baggies don't break down in the freakin' landfills!

:P

6. I reuse mine too
I have a washable lunch bag. I reuse the generic zip-type bags for my chips and cookies.

9. Plastic bags are terrible for the environment.
Terrible. They go into the trash dumps and never break down. Animals get caught up in them and die.

I've come up with some interesting blends that way, like some Jamaican and Hydro Skunk buds. Great stuff! :P

13. Why do you hate the environment and America?
:wtf:

Recylce and reuse. Depending on the baggie type they are dishwasher safe or they can easily washed by hand.

15. It's a good idea; I reuse baggies
like that all the time.

I normally will throw away the ones that have had raw meat in them, however. But other than that, I will reuse a bag.

16. Another tip: Reuse bags and linings from e.g. bread, crackers, cereal, etc.
If you're not going to recycle them, put them to use in your kids' lunches, wrapping leftovers, etc.

17. Reuse them. Or forgo them all together and use hard-sided
containers that can be reused.

20. No - those fucking things are unneccessary, shitty piles of pollution
shouldn't be using them in the first place; and if you do use them, then yes, by God, you should re-use them until they can't be used any more.

Shouldn't be using paper plates, either.
