2. they've been gone here for many years,
which is awful, I miss listening to them from many miles away. Thousands of frogs singing, now gone.

9. We had a nice wooded area near a creek where they'd sing...
University of Maryland destroyed it to make way for campus expansion. :(

3. I have to find a recording of them every spring!

My quicktime can't be updated to hear your sample so I found this-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SM6leUVorY

I grew up near a pond in Massachusetts where we looked forward to hearing them as we fell asleep on warming spring nights. There are tree frogs calling in the distance here in Northern California, but it's not quite the same.
I hope the little frogs aren't suffering from some kind of pollution :(

4. It's still a little early for them, isn't it?
I thought they got more active closer to late spring.

11. We used to hear them on the first warm day...
Sometimes we could even hear them sing in February or early March if there was a break in the weather.

G'night.

6. Come to Annapolis
they are peeping loud and clear - it's especially cool when one of the local bullfrogs adds his voice to the mix.

13. My in-laws used to live in Arnold
They had a lovely swampy area at the back of their house. It was wonderful to hear the frogs back there.

12. It sounded like a damned frog invasion in the culvert behind my house.
Sounded like at least a thousand of them. All your could hear was a non-stop high pitched droning.

Crazy.
