Is your Firefox acting up worse than your IE?
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 04:40 PM by BurtWorm
Or is it just mine? After the latest update, my Firefox has begun sucking up all the CPU and Memory usage it can get. I'm actually going back to using IE because it's less of a headache--no headadche at all actually.

If I strip Firefox down to the bare essentials--get rid of all the shit on the toolbars except what comes with the original package, o IT mavens of DU, will it act like its old quietly efficient self gain? Or is it going to suck forever now that everyone uses it?

1. I got rid of it a little while back....
I really didn't see any real difference between the two as far as reliability.

4. just for giggles...
A couple of years ago, I had a very slow Firefox and was pulling my hair out (and there ain't much of that to begin with) trying everything. I was going to post in a Mozilla forum but before I did that they wanted me to try creating a new profile first, to eliminate variables.

Well, that immediately cleared up the problem. I then gradually imported all my bookmarks, extensions and other settings from the old profile into the new one expecting to find the source of the problem but I never did. Once I got the new profile up and running the way I liked it, I simply deleted the old one. Problem "solved" I guess. I didn't see any reason to explore further.

5. When my home computer upgraded to 3
I had INCREDIBLE slowness. I ended up just eliminating 3 and going back to 2.

Had no problem with 3 on my work computer.

I read that creating a new profile would fix it, but...I have no idea how to do that. And I wasn't in the mood to bother trying. (I'm sure I could figure out the profile thing if I tried)
