furbaby pictures!
Mostly 'cause I'm nosy...

Does anyone have any pics of pets they'd like to share tonight? Here are my two - Weezer and Simon.

They're dolls! :)

Here's a shot of my boy cat Leo with his pal Maui.

10. he's the most lovable cat I've ever had.
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 11:36 AM by Forkboy
almost too much so at times. He gets clingy, and he has been since his mother died. But he loves all humans. He goes right up to strangers, which kind of worries me at times, but better friendly than mean I guess. :)

11. Whenever my Daniel sees a stranger come in my house
she goes right up to them and shakes them down for treats. I guess her former owner had a friend that would always bring her treats and she never broke the habit.

9. welcome to DU, Nicole.
Frisco is a tough critter. If you notice his nose, it's slightly bent. That's because he had his head in a coyote's mouth years ago, and the coyotes fractured the roof of Frisco's mouth and peeled his lower lip all the way down under his jaw. I found him the next day covered in blood, barely able to breath, with blood bubbling out of nose, ears...he was a mess and I thought he was a goner.

We took him to one vet, but they wanted $700 just to look at him. I didn't have that kind of money so I'm thinking I'm going to have to put him down. I had one more option, an old vet two hours away where I had lived before. He was a "drunken vet" as we said in the song we wrote about him years ago, but he stitched up Frisco's lip, cleaned him up, and said the roof of his mouth would heal, but we just had to watch when he ate for awhile to make sure he no problems. All for $100.

So that's how he got the bent nose. :)

13. What a tale!
Wow, Frisco! How many lives do you think you used?

Lucky for you you had a "drunken vet," Forkboy. :)

15. Here's my Summer on the back of my computer chair
She looks distinctly pear-shaped when she sits like this, but she's actually slender in real life. She's a blue-eyed Siamese/Tabby mix.

...and here's my parents' cat, Polly, using her grey & cream tortie coat to blend in with their couch. Her fur is so soft it's as if she's wrapped in silk, and she's a polydactyl.

17. how gorgeous!
Our Weezer is a tortie. I think they are so pretty! Truth be known though, "Weezer" is her given name. She answers to "Fat Ass".

18. Thanks to knowing Polly, I love torties now
:)

Six months after I brought Summer home, I saw a tortie-point Siamese at the no-kill shelter where I adopted her and she was just beautiful. I would've grabbed her up in a second if only I had a bigger apartment. She actually looked a lot like this kitty, but her points were a little lighter:

And I totally get you on the nickname thing--I used to call Polly "Monkey" after my parents got her because she looks like she has opposable thumbs and she was constantly getting into things. I also call Summer "Honeybun" most of the time because she's such a sweetie.

20. *grin*
I had to wait a long time to take that photo...every time they cuddled up together, they'd split as soon as they saw me coming with a camera. I finally caught them! It's currently the wallpaper on my PC.
