1. Can we get neither as an option?
I hate both of them.

2. It depends
I love texting with my kid. Can't get my friends and family to text me. They want to do the talky talk and our calls will last for hours.

3. I hate talking on the phone. Texting is easier and it gets right to the point.
I don't like texting a whole conversation though.

8. I've never ever texted...
and I truly only use my cell phone for emergencies. If I really want to make contact with someone I more than likely will email them.

11. Depends on who I'm talking to and what the subject matter is.
For me, it's entirely situational.

12. I don't do text. If the choice was between email and phone, I'd pick phone.
I like to hear the inflection in a person's voice when I'm having a conversation.

16. Depends...

no not that!!!!!

on who, what, where, etc...

some people I would just rather text

some people you want to text because they aren't able to easily get to the phone but can text discretely

and then, some people you want to hear their voice...mmmm yeah! ;)

then some you wish would just send you an email, or a letter in the snail mail, or just leave you alone.

17. What am I trying to communicate.
If the bulk of the info is already known, and I just need to let them know that the movie we have already picked out at the theater we have already picked out starts at 3:15, text.

If we have to decide which movie, which theater, which day, which time, who else to invite, and whether we want to even see a movie or just go hang out at Olive Garden, then talk on the phone. People who try to convey large amounts of info via text piss me off. Its just not efficient. 20+ texts later, you are still not sure what the hell is going on, when you could have just made a 45 second phone call.
