6. It's pretty hard to avoid all those ingrained bias messages we grew up

with in this society. I think the best we can do is continue to work throughout our lives to recognize and correct such fallacies in our thinking and behavior. I worry more about the people who claim to be "ism" free, while daily demonstrating that they are anything but.

and I have an undeniable tendency to start blaming it on the whole gender at times, rather than limiting my ire to only the ones who deserve it. Kind of like my rage against the hateful fundies spilling over to other religious people who are inoffensive.

Even more frustrating is when the "good" but clueless don't see what is so very upsetting about some situations, why I take it so hard.

So, by definition, that is a sexist statement.

But I, personally, don't hold that against you, because I believe everyone is sexist to one degree or another. I think it's human nature to think the grass is greener on the other side.

Sexist and misogynist (or whatever the male equivient is) are two different things, though. As long as you tend to treat people with respect, what you think about them to yourself shouldn't be an issue for anyone but yourself.

Even though I like several men personally and generally feel comfortable with them in mixed settings. I know that I am sexist because I get really scared when I am badly outnumbered, especially when were not talking about prepubescent boys or the elderly. And that question about which side of the street you would walk on if you see a black man on one side and a white man on the other when you are otherwise alone and it is dark, it doesn't matter, I'd be terrifed in either case. Unlike many other prejudices though, reason and statistics tell me that there is something to be afraid about. It just isn't irrational emotion.
Also, of all the different "types" of people out there, I really dislike the ultra masculine man. This sort of man had no chance of dating me and such a man would not be my friend. While I prefer more balanced people, I usually am able to get along with ultra feminine women, but not Rambo type of men.
I am such a terrible person. It really feels good to admit this though. If this post was overly offensive, please delete it, but don't ban me.

Children are taught not to talk to strangers (and rightly so), usually by usuing visual aids featuring a very masculine (stubbly, etc) man as the stranger, even though, statistically, women are responsible for 25% of child abductions.

All part of the process which instils fear of men at a very young age.

and since a large number of women are raped or molested every year i have reason to avoid strange men when i am alone....

53. frankly, women are really pissing me off these days

just a few friends and relatives i know who are stuck in abusive relationships with men. two friends i know are actually the main breadwinners for the pathetic loser men in their lives. in both cases, i do believe low self-esteem is the culprit, but i still have a hard time watching them with these men...and listening to their complaints about them.
one is getting a divorce, but she still relies on her irresponsible husband to do things for her...which he doesn't do, or doesn't do the way she wants, then she complains that he doesn't do it right. it seems like a punishment to me...and it seems she is the one who is ultimately being punished. i keep telling: STOP RELYING ON HIM if you are really done with him...but then of course, she'd have nothing to complain about.
the other one...boy that's such a long story. suffice it to day, she spent her last dime in the world to get this man, now she complains about what a loser he is. he doesn't make enough money...she gets a second job. he hit her...she makes excuses for him. he doesn't want to drive her old car so she sells it, then he drives her car...leaving her stranded.
this story is so deep...i finally just stopped talking to this woman recently.
the other one is on her way out...unless she follows thru with getting that man out of her life...soon.
