2. I'm worried too
It sounds like a sad and stressful situation. I hope the family supports one another through this.

4. Hi folks...here I am
:hi:

Let's see...She's in ICU in Worcester, I was there with my brother yesterday. Apparently, they think the morphine she was given for her leg pain caused her to crash. They tested her on a C-Pap for 2 hours yesterday and she did well. They tested her again at 5 am today, and she did really well on it. They're going to test her again this afternoon, and if she does well, they're going to remove the vent and let her breathe on her own, and move her out of ICU.

Then, we have to figure out the pain issue, b/c that's not associated with ALS. Apparently it began once they stopped giving her physical therapy, so it's more likely due to immobility.

So that's all I know right now. Kinda a day to day situation. Not great, but better.

9. Glad to hear from you!
And glad to hear your mom is doing okay. ALS is so puzzling some times-- my best friend's dad passed from it a couple years ago and it's just baffling. I hope they can figure out what's causing the pain, and come up with a pain management plan that allows her to have a comfortable life.

Best wishes for you and your family

12. No problem...I probably should have updated last night
But I had a harrowing 2 hours drive back in a terrible thunderstorm. Almost crashed the car, but not quite. I was a little exhausted once I got home.
