Great. I owe 2K in taxes for 2008

Apparently it's because I claimed 2 exemptions on my W-4 form. I've been doing that since I was 17 with my first job and never had any repercussions. Now, in the midst of an already lame economic climate, I somehow have to scrounge up 2K within the next 2 weeks. What gives?

Fed Taxes Withheld: $2,941

In the past, claiming two would result in a lesser return, which was fine by me. I am puzzled as to why I'm all of a sudden having to pay.

$3500 personal exemption + $5450 standard deduction (unless you itemized...) = taxable income of $33,245.


Tax due is $4700.00 and you only had $2941 withheld.

3. Ah I figured out the problem. It had to do with me moving recently.
