So, I bought a new clarinet.

Well, new to me. The seller has a great rating on e-bay, the model is a Leblanc Artist, which seems to rate pretty well according to my research.

I haven't played in 10 years, but I heard a version of "Claire de Lune" on clarinet, and it was what pushed me to actually buy one.

Beautiful horn. I can't wait to get it.

:hi:

1. Wow, that looks like real wood!
So many are made out of plastic now. Ugh!

Very nice horn. :hi:

4. I love ebay.
I got it for $125. About 50 more than what I would have paid for a cheap plastic one at costco. I have seen people trying to sell this model for 700+. I think my mother paid 400 for the Bundy I got in Jr High.

Did I tell you I love ebay?

10. I like that you can see the wood grain
and not that ebonized look. Is it rosewood?

11. It is grenadilla.
Of course, I don't believe I have ever seen a grenadilla tree, but I will be playing one in a few days.

14. I love the somewhat mournful sound of a french horn.
They do seem very pricey, though.

13. My Dad played clarinet in a Dixieland band when I was a kid
I always remember him practicing. I've always loved the sound of a clarinet.

Enjoy!
