Teak bathroom mats: Yea or Nay?
I'm thinking about getting one, as the daily removal of cat hair from the carpet mat is getting old.... Has anybody had any experience with these things? They *sound* like a good idea, but maybe there's some drawback that I'm not considering. The only thing I can think of offhand is that the bathroom door and the door to linen closet might not clear it (easily fixed with a circular saw).

:hi:

2. Yeah, that looks like one....
They're kind of cool looking, but I really think it'd be functional, too. Not to mention probably more eco-friendly (lasts a long time, no trips to the washer, etc...)

4. I don't know if no responses is a good or bad thing here....

6. Looks like the wood will go to shit in 6 months.
Plastic mats are better.

Is that modified from "Garfield minus Garfield"?

And do you suppose that Jim Davis is now producing strips with G-G in mind? Doesn't that defeat the zen of it all?

8. Are you talking about the in-the-shower kind?
or the out of the shower? What I'm looking at is the one that you would step out of the shower on to as you towel off, so it wouldn't ever be soaked.

5. DW likes her Teak Mat in the Shower
Don't know how that equates to having one on the bathroom floor though.

9. I'm OK with the rubber/plastic one *in* the shower....
It's just that the cats (for whatever reason) LOVE to lay on the carpet mat during the day, and I'm tired of coming out of the bathroom with cat hair stuck to my feet!

10. Isn't teak an endangered wood?
Or am I thinking mahogany? If it's from sustainable wood then yes, go for it - but endangered wood? Nope.

Mark.
