What comedian said rats are just a bushy tale away from being squirrels and living the easy life?

I'd feed them to my boas. Rats = snake food.

Rats are much better pets than a Boa. :(

And I say that even after getting to know my ex's Boa.

18. My cat just killed a rat WAY bigger than that one
and left the still-bleeding corpse on the basement floor. My rat-phobic partner found it and almost had a stroke. I was left to dispose of the remains. Again. Sigh.

it was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen .I live alone so I couldn't even have someone else "deal" with it!

I hate disease spreading vermin. I put everything in glass or plastic containers because I can not bear the thought of them getting in my stuff.

I also have a death squad --three cats!

26. I actually moved from an apartment in Darien CT because it had mice.
Beautiful old home with a fieldstone basement. I couldn't take it. And, I certainly couldn't afford to go to the Marriott every night when I heard them in the walls. :scared:

When I trapped one, I seriously considered calling the police, but I didn't want to end up in Newtown, (Fairfield County's psych intake)

31. If I didn't have my cats
and if I could take care of the cages myself, I would love to have rats.

They really are wonderful pets.

It's unfortunate that they have such short lifespans. :(

28. How about this?

The tail is what gets to me too for some reason. The tail and the yellow teeth. They kind of otherwise look like hamsters which I had when I was a kid.

BTW, the rat in the first photo died and the owner got another. This is the other rat with the one of the former's teddy:

Oh, and hopefully the cat has been well fed!

:loveya:

Friends of mine have pet rats, and I love to play with them and let them climb on me. I love to let them run up my sleeves and out my collar. They are very affectionate and friendly. :)

They recognize my voice on the phone and chitter happily at me and do happy dances. :P

I love teh ratties. I know people get really icked out by them but they make very sweet pets. They don't know they are rats, after all. :) Mine thought he was a dog and had free range of our house. He came when called and did tricks. He always ran down the hall to greet my boyfriend at the door when he heard him come up at the end of the day. I always had to rush after him to catch him because the door would sweep him off the floor when it opened!

36. No.
I grew up in Willard's house. Every spring the creek would rise and those mice would invade our home. They made a tiny narrow path from the smokehouse to our house and you could hear them at night nawing on the heavy oak bathroom door. They got in the stove and you could see them peering up at you where you cook things on top. No, mice and rats are not cute. They bring death (Black Plague) and destructions (Nutcracker Suite!).
