You're completely crazy. Most Americans pay no attention to politics whatsover and vote Republican because their parents did. They don't realize that the party has changed.

There are some states that would still go Republican if they personally saw film of Bush performing an abortion and having threesome sex with Cheney and Rumsfeld on the Oval Office desk.

But even a 5% spread would be nice.
