Kind of a 'Tales From the Cockpit'...Beano.

Just saw the latest Beano commercial and it sparked a memory.

Used to fly with a guy who was on a raw veg diet. Might have been a Pritikin thing.

It might have been something else, I forget.

Anyway, he'd bring a big bag of raw broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, whatever on our trip and that's what he ate.
We're enjoying our steaks, chicken, whatever, and he's chowing down on his veggies.

About a hour AFTER he ate, the flatulence would begin.
I'm talking EYE-WATERING and THUNDERING!
Whew and PEW.

The cockpit of a 747 is a small confined space.
I'd just put my oxygen mask on until it was safe.
:-(

Then I found out about Beano.
I bought some and put it in his company mailbox.
No note, no explanation, just the Beano.
Anonymously.
;-)

I guess he took the 'hint'...and the Beano.
He was no longer nearly as odoriferous.
And we lived happily ever after.

2. Too true.

Last time I had one of those was 1971.
It was a (somewhat) comforting thing to have.
But I'm glad I never had to use it.
I only came close once.

The poor guy went from a myocardial infarction about a year after he retired.
Go figure.

6. I admire you for buying the BEANO. That takes guts in my book.

I feel they make a less than flattering message to surrounding witnesses. Like, "Guy at work said these here pills might keep me from fartin' so much."
