Anybody else like Dick Van Dyke?

For some reason, I've always been fond of him. My mother tells me that when I was a baby, I always cheered up when Dick Van Dyke or Peter Jennings came on the TV.

I just thought of this because "Lazybones" sung by Dick Van Dyke came up on my mp3's.

His show was funny and not mean spirited at all. He seems like a nice guy. No comment on his name.

I was sad to learn many years later how bad his personal life was at the time it was on.

mostly for reasons of nostalgia. I sometimes have a problem with comics that are too silly or slap-sticky. Lucile Ball actually used to make me feel embarrassed when I watched her. Jonathan Winters, bugged me too. Even Robbin Williams when he was Mork from Ork, made me cringe. Same deal with Jerry Lewis. None the less, they can still make me laugh.
