Do you say Hospital or THE Hospital.
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 04:26 PM by rcrush
Like how in other countries they say "He was taken to hospital" and I usually say "He was taken to the Hospital". Does anyone in America say just Hospital?

I dont know why I am wondering this.

4. To Hospital is British
The Canadians and former colonies say it too.

I think we Amis are the only ones who use THE hospital.

It's all good though.

9. As is 'in hospital'. Not in 'the' hospital.
Grandpa called it the 'hoss pistol'.
He was a real card, grandpa was.

7. The use without the article seems to be British English, as in
"Down to you" as opposed to the American "Up to you".
All right thinking Americans say "The Hospital".
