Beethoven Symphony 7 Movement 2; Back's "Little" Fugue
I can't listen to either without being moved to tears. Anyone else have a similar reaction to this or other music (in a good way, of course)?

Beethoven (I think this is my favorite of his symphonies, though 9 is spectacular):

Bach's "Little Fugue" in G minor, organ (I'd like to hear a recording of E. Power Biggs):

2. that's how I first heard it, with the horns...
just stunned me, actually. Was sitting in traffic, and all of a sudden the cars all seemed to go away and there was only this fugue coming out of my crappy car speakers.

When I get to the point where I can spend some real money on music again, I want a variety of these recordings. The organ can be hard to like, but listen to E. Power Biggs play some Bach one of these days - he was truly spectacular.

3. oh, I dig the
organ...maybe because I have keyboard in my background. Badly done though is painful, I agree.

4. Now THAT was some SERIOUSLY RIGHTEOUS horn playing!!!
It does annoy me that the players are not identified. They are ALL KICK ASS!!! Thanks for this! Kicking for more listens. :kick:
