3. You could be on to something there!
I just returned from Sydney, where I had a close encounter with a Taz (in a wildlife park). Although that little guy looked more like a Boston Terrier.

So we all thought AWWW, what a cute little guy! Until feeding time, when the caretakers came with its meal--a severed rabbit head!! Taz jumped about 10 feet, caught the carrion, and immediately tucked into it--the sickening sound of bone-crunching put me off my own food for the rest of the day.

We left him to his repast--didn't wanna see Bugs Bunny become Taz's victim anymore!

I was just thinking it was really cute too, but yuck!!!

I'd love to travel to Australia! Were you there on business, or to see the sights?

7. He actually is adorable.
I do have a pic which I could post, but my photobucket is blocked @ work so I have to wait till I get home.

The caretakeres at Featherdale wildlife park told us they had 2 Tazmanian devils, but they stayed in separate enclosures, since they're solitary little critters until mating season. This one had slept all day in his burrow, then came out running and never stopped until he knew he was getting the bunny head. He was very good at looking winsome and hungry, thinking we were gonna feed him. That's the only time he was still, allowing us to get photos.

As for Australia, it was my second time there and I just love it. I spent half of the 70s in London; Sydney is like the best of that with the pub culture, the European flair, yet with great weather, good food and friendly people. The animals are very cool, especially the birds. So many different, beautiful species, although they plague the farmers in the countryside.

The only disadvantage is that 14 hour flight from California--waaay too long! And if you're on the east coast, even more hideous (I work for an airline, but I hate flying--go figure!) Anyway, no regrets--it's all worth it once you get there!

11. Too many calories in the whole rabbit...?
Or maybe it has to do with brains or bones--as a vegetarian, I do respect the dietary needs of other humans and other species--but the less I know about this stuff the better!!!
