5. OMG! I just knew it! I knew Utah would be #1.

The first clue is how much the LDS general authorities, bishops, young men's and young women's leaders, etc. talk about the dangers of porn. Methinks they protest too much. All that bottled up sexual frustration has to get out somehow. I think there are healthier and far more entertaining ways to solve the problem of sexual frustration, but that's just me.

As I said, I think there are healthier and more entertaining ways to deal with sexual frustration. In other words, I don't think porn is the right way to go. I think a great sex life is the way to go. However, I realize that's out of reach for some, so I guess I won't begrudge them their porn, as long as they understand that real women aren't really like the women in the porn videos, that we actually have sexual needs of our own and that fulfilling those needs makes a man more likely to get laid.

But it seems that if you constantly tell people to avoid something, you'll inadvertently encourage them to do it. I'm of the opinion that the church would achieve better success in curbing the porn problem if they encouraged healthy sexuality. You know, like not discouraging masturbation, which I believe is normal and highly educational to teenagers; and perhaps encouraging people to learn how best to please their partners, even if that includes things like "OMG! Oral sex!" But, alas, I know those things are as verboten to the church as the porn.

There seems to be a dangerous and problematic disconnect in Christianity regarding Sex. On the one hand it's the original sin, forbidden, wrong and full of ickyness. On the other hand it was created by God, who made it enjoyable and immensely pleasurable, attaching to it a strong physical drive. Hence, it cannot be evil. Our human tendency toward extremism seems to lead to either hypocritical puritanism, or mindless libertinism. Neither is healthy, an enjoyable, emotionally and physically fulfilling sex life is.
