Richmond Virginia is *CLOSED* tomorrow
BIG snow. Accumulation even.

This place will be shut down. 1 to 5 inches expected from what I have heard.

Looks like Maine to the Carolina line will be a field of white by tonight.

NO HURRICANES reported at this time :-)

BTW, Ran into Ben Woods who used to be the NBC 12 meterologist. He's BoyM's tutor and one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He was in my house when the tornado touched down in my neighborhood last year and went out back to reassure us that it wasn't going to hit us.

He said 3-5 at a minimum.

17. We have the traditional Midlo family 'snow' chili and tomorrow
if they go out in the snow, BabyM, BoyM is past this I think, she will return home to grilled cheese and tomato soup.

It's all about the traditions.

I'm so glad it snowed. BabyM doesn't really remember a big snow here. Remember the blizzards of 95 and 2000? (I think it was 2000, I know it was 95 because I was pregnant with BabyM) the older two were absolutely thrilled.

I'm glad she gets to experience this.

We've got at least 2 inches on the ground at my house now. I totally almost forgot what this stuff looked like.
And we will be closed for 2 days at least. And no grocery store in the land will have bread or milk tonight.

37. Well, the difference here is that you have the appropriate equipment
to clear the streets. We don't. The last big snow here was in 2000, so it would be fiscally irresponsible to have the same type of equipment that they had when I lived in CT.

36. Yeah, I've been to school before with 5 inches on the ground.
SO long as the visibility was decent and the snow was slowing down, they sent us. Or just an hour delay.

When you get an asston of sleet and crap like that along with your snow, you know you're playin' in the big leagues. :D

29. Greensboro, NC : started snowing hard at 7:30pm...
... by the time I left work (thought it a good time to go home) the Jeep was totally covered with snow. Plopped the Jeep into 4WD mode and off I plodded along home - top speed I did was 35mph, often though at 25mph. Good job I did go slow and steady: came across a wreck half way home, police were on the scene: a car had flipped onto its side. Must have tried to go around the corner way too fast. This is not the time to go speeding around: slow and steady does it.

Whether we'll get out tomorrow is another thing.

Mark.

40. Ah Richmond, I have some good memories of that city.
As a little kid, I remember going to the Richmond Science Museum and being pretty wowed by it all.

When I got older, it was all about going to Richmond Braves games at The Diamond. Fun stuff.

I liked Richmond so much that I actually applied to URich and VCU as my "local" schools....(even though I lived 2.5 hours away).

Well anyways, stay warm!
