Question for Mac experts

I have a Mac Mini. Every time I turn it on it reverts to Icon View. I'm using the same operating system on my Laptop, which set to column view. 'What gives? I've tried everything including an archival reinstall of the operating system.

1. Finder Preferences > General > Open New Window in Column View

Does that work for you?

9. That's exactly what I see on mine

except I have the additional "open in column view" option.

I'm running 10.4.11 -- are you on 10.5?

3. When in finder, click on view options

and make sure you have your settings set to apply to ALL windows.

I just did it and it worked like a charm, what version of OSX are you using?

12. Nope. That's under View>

Then Show View Options. I change it to Always show in Column View. Then, when I restart my computer, it reverts back to Always show in Icon View

Buy a PC. :)
