Just finished Season 5, Episode 10. The one co-written by Steven King about Scully going on vacation in Maine.

2. Hey, I just started watching the first season! I love those early eps
Mulder & Scully in their early years, when they both still had their baby fat. It's adorable, like the muppet babies, only with alien probes. The cheap SFX in the first few shows, before they got a real budget, are kinda cheesy, adn the writers don't quite have their sea legs on how to bring off a good story on every episode. But still some real gems--the Jersey Devil girl, the "Fire" starting dude who hates British gentry, the evil "Eve" 8 year old twins who kill their daddies... Awesomely fantastic plot holes in each show, of course, but damn, those early shows have a lot of heart!

5. That's the one with the big plot hole, however
If the point was to kill their dads and be with each other, why draw attention to themselves by making the murders so distinctively similar? They lived on opposite coasts? Why not do quiet little murders and then hook up later? What idiotic little adorable geniuses they were.

"Daddy's been exsanguinated!"

4. Whoa. Now THAT is eerie... I'm at the EXACT SAME SPOT in my X-Files rewatch.
Exact same season, exact same episode... Then again, I have been on hiatus for the last couple of months, but still... Wow!

6. I liked that one.
:)

I did that a couple of years ago and made it all the way through the series. It took me six months or so, but I made it.

8. I should go through and see what I've missed, because I'm sure there are at least a few
Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 08:52 PM by DarkTirade
that I missed the first time around and in reruns. I just don't know which ones they are... umm... 'cause I missed 'em. :P

*edit* Also, was I the only person who actually enjoyed the Lone Gunmen series? I must admit, the episode when they came back onto the X-Files, I cried at the end. There are only three X-Files episodes that have made me get misty-eyed, and that was one of 'em.

13. there were a few of us - we were kind of disappointed when it imploded

Did you watch On the Air, too? ( short- lived David Lynch series) - I think we were some of the few people who watched that, too.

14. Never even heard of it.
But I don't watch a whole lot of TV. Rarely had cable in my life, and I've never actually owned my own TV. Only times I had access to one was when I lived with somebody who had one. :)

11. I think you are about where we are - we missed a lot when it was on
(I think we bailed when they changed it to Sunday nights from Friday), and there are some really good, and really funny episodes...

What a great series- it really held up! Much better than all the crappy imitations that it inspired...
