My office feels like a doggie war zone
I have my two cattle dogs at work with me. The thirteen year old dislocated his hip right after New Year's and, until a week ago, had three steel pins sticking out of his rear to hold his hip in place. They're out now but his rear is still hairless and he still has a hobble on his ankles to keep him from splaying his legs if he falls.

My five year old had TPLO surgery on her knee Friday and has twenty staples on the inside of her leg. She's being a real trooper, not complaining and is even putting some weight on her leg when I take her out to do her business. Her recovery period will be 8-12 weeks and she'll be here with me at work every day until she's fully recovered. She doesn't like it as much as the old guy but he's much more people oriented than she is.

Needless to say, two major surgeries on two dogs in a month has wiped out our savings and has me tied to a leash for three more months.

It's a damned good thing I love these dogs. I don't think most people would have gone to the extreme my wife and I have gone to over the last month.
