3. There was an Alfred Hitchcock / Twilight Zone episode...don't remember which...

...but the husband is up on the roof and the wife follows him up, telling him that if he comes down she will make him some potato pancakes. He tells her "YOU'RE a potato pancake, Ethel," and tosses her off the roof.

Domestic violence was a mainstay of early 60s TV, that's for sure.

This is true. My friend and I talked about this years and years ago. Even when it's not actually shown there's a subtle undercurrent in a lot of them, sometimes shows you might not expect it from either.

Smoking is another thing that cracks me up in old shows. I watching an old episode of Kojak (hey, I love it...sue me lol) and there was a patient in the hospital smoking. Someone even gave him a light. In the movie King Kong vs Godzilla they give the natives on Kong's island cigarettes when they greet them. When a little native kid tugs on their sleeve and makes a motion like smoking a cig, they remember they forgot candy...and then give the kid two smokes. :rofl:

One of the joys of adulthood was collecting Twilight Zone episodes on DVD that I remembered as a kid...I'd have a vivid memory of some section of the plot and that was it, just detective work and reading box covers until I found them.

He is determined to escape and share the town's secrets with the outside world. "Black Leather Jackets" (Ep. 138, January 31, 1964) - Three tough-looking men on motorcycles disrupt a peaceful suburb when they move in. Yet the neighbors could never imagine just how dangerous these men are. One bit of advice: don't drink the water.

13. Cool trivia about the "20,000 Feet" episode...

John Lithgow did a remake of it for the Twilight Zone movie in 1983. 16 years later, Shatner was cast as The Big Giant Head on "3rd Rock from the Sun", starring Lithgow as Dick Solomon. Dialogue from that episode:

Sally Solomon: So how was your trip, sir?
The Big Giant Head: Horrifying, at first. I looked out the window and... I saw something on the side of the plane.
Dick Solomon: The same thing happened to me!

14. I remember that...

...a few years ago one of my local TV stations sandwiched "3rd Rock" reruns between Simpsons episodes (Simpsons-3rd Rock-Simpsons), 5 nights a week. I think I eventually got to see the whole series as a result.

10. Scariest one was the prisoner, trying to escape,

who allowed himself to be buried. First saw this when I was a kid with my mom and brother...scared the bejezzus out of all of us, and I swear led to a mild case claustrophobia. Won't give away the end, but DAMN!
