I spent the evening with my neighbors and we were talking about the 1930's.
I wonder what our depression will be like, it will be different.

There are more of us, and most people can't grow their own food like they did back then.

We all agreed it is great that we have President Obama.

Might be a good idea to stock up on beans and rice and seeds for a garden.

I so angry at Republicans for this mess, this didn't have to happen.

1. Yes, I might have to garden as well
though I'm not very good at it. My dad was the one with the green thumb.

2. The reason I bought this house was because it had a big yard.
Back in the 1930's there were very few house were I live, so there was space for large gardens.

People had cows here, pigs, goats, chickens and could hunt and fish.

Nobody went hungry.

My neighborhood is now inner city but back then it was semi-country.

We may have to feed ourselves before things get better.

4. Good idea.
If nothing happens you can use the canned goods anyway.

We have two breadmakers, it is easy to make you own bread.

5. We are starting seed tomorrow.
We are hoping to increase our garden output this year. We have the lights, trays and seed. It helps that we find gardening very calm and rewarding. It is one of the things we like to do together.
