So I'm experiencing this strange sensation of depression symptoms without the logical basis...

for those symptoms. In fact, I quite frankly have no idea why I'm experiencing tightness in my chest and why I feel sad. My humor is still present, as is my energy to do my reading, but I'm on the verge of tears.

Is this stress? I don't know.

Just venting,

1. First of all,
Depression is by no means logical. And it is often biological. It could be stress, it could be anxiety, it could be a lot of things. Sometimes vitamins/better eating/exercise helps, sometimes therapy helps, sometimes medication helps. The variables are endless.

But here is a hug.

3. Get a medical checkup
It could be a chemical or hormonal imbalance. Just for chuckles my gyn checked me to see if I was peri-menopausal or menopausal (in 1996 I had a hysterectomy but both ovaries were left in). It turned out I was in the full throes of menopause, but I had not had any symptoms.

However, 3 months later I became totally unhinged for no reason. I had a wonderful husband, lived in a beautiful historic home and neighborhood, and I didn't have to work any longer...I had my time to pursue my interests. Yet, I had an inexplicable urge to cry, and I felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall 24/7 with no explanation as to why. A couple of weeks on an anti-depressant and some dietary changes made all the difference in the world.
