What does it mean to dream of abandoned buildings?

I've had that dream twice fairly recently. The building weren't falling apart, so I wouldn't call them derelict. But they were abandoned.

2. Here's one meaning
Building
To see a building in your dream, represents the self and the body. How high you are in the building indicates a rising level of understanding or awareness. If you are in the lower levels of the building, then it refers to more primal attitudes and/or sexuality.

6. Cthulhu fhtgan
Upon retiring, he had had an unprecedented dream of great Cyclopean cities of Titan blocks and sky-flung monoliths, all dripping with green ooze and sinister with latent horror. Hieroglyphics had covered the walls and pillars, and from some undetermined point below had come a voice that was not a voice; a chaotic sensation which only fancy could transmute into sound, but which he attempted to render by the almost unpronounceable jumble of letters, "Cthulhu fhtagn".

9. I have similar dreams and fairly frequently
It involves buildings I used to work in that are somewhat dilapidated in my dreams and I can't find my way out of them. No doors, corridors that go nowhere. Weird stuff. Not scary dreams but borderline disturbing.

14. That's the way these usually are. Not scary but a little unsettling.

As I think about it, I think in my case these houses can represent my past. Past issues or something.

And someone mentioned unfulfilled hopes/dreams, which would fit with me.

11. What else is goin' on?
Are you trapped? Looking into purchasing/selling? Trying to build a fire to heat them? Planting bombs to blow 'em up? hehe

I'm usually being chased in abandoned buildings. :D

Just curious.
