What does it mean to dream of abandoned buildings?

I've had that dream twice fairly recently. The building weren't falling apart, so I wouldn't call them derelict. But they were abandoned.

9. I have similar dreams and fairly frequently

It involves buildings I used to work in that are somewhat dilapidated in my dreams and I can't find my way out of them. No doors, corridors that go nowhere. Weird stuff. Not scary dreams but borderline disturbing.

As I think about it, I think in my case these houses can represent my past. Past issues or something.

And someone mentioned unfulfilled hopes/dreams, which would fit with me.
