1. dislike facebook... too much spam

so many stupid little gimmicks like "send a pie" or "somebody stepped on your foot" ...here's a list of crap it wants me to deal with:

• 1 grammar test invitation
• 1 you're naughty request
• 1 human pets invitation
• 1 vampires invitation
• 1 pirates invitation
• 2 oregon trail invitations
• 1 most creative people invitation
• 1 which toon are you? request
• 1 are you a jerk? invitation
• 2 slayers invitations
• 1 petrolhead invitation

and the inability to see any information about a person until you add them as a friend. what if I don't KNOW if this is the person I'm looking for?

and it seems there's not much to do there besides expand the network

2. Ignore the gimmicks...

I tend to ignore about 90% of the application adds... and if you friend somebody and it's not who you think, you can just unfriend them :) It's a nice way to keep up with people from a lot of different parts of my life, all in one place... school friends, family, people from work, other message boards, etc. :)
