That said, this conjures up unfortunate memories of the time when I spend 6 months in New Zealand, hiking around and found myself with a rash that I must've been certain would be cured by making a little paste of cayenne pepper, only to find that I hadn't diluted the mixture enough to mellow out the harshness, and therefore had to scramble to find enough cold water to rinse the whole system down and reduce my level of extreme discomfort, which did eventually work, but not nearly as quickly as I had hoped.
