Okay, I'm not a kid person...
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 12:45 PM by Javaman
I know some people really love kids. Good for them.

personally, I don't like them.

But then again, now that I think about it, it's really not the kid but the parents.

right now, I'm being subject to one of my co-workers child in my area. The kid is actually very well behaved, it's the child spawning parents/co-workers that I can't deal with.

the baby talk, how colossally annoying and down right insulting it is, not only to me, but to the child. Why in the world would a child want you to talk to them like a moron?

then the permeative effect that one child does to attract other parents to blather on and on about their own rug rats. It's a grand game of, "I can top you with my child's crazy ass bullshit story" or "when I was raised by my child obsessed parents blah blah blah".

I never once had any want or need via the "miracle" of child birth, but honestly, looking at these adults fawn over this child as if this one was the last one left on the planet, frankly, makes me ill.

So I think I'm revising my general pledge that I hate kids, to: I hate moron fawning parents.

even though this is a rant, I'm not completely satisfied with my verbal disgorge, so I my bring this up again in the future as my co-workers may warrant.

2. All parents think their kids are the be all and end all.
It's when they start letting the kids know that they think that way that the trouble begins.

3. Indeed.
I like kids, mostly... and when I don't, I can usually see why, in the behavior of the parents...

4. Working with 'problem' children...
I can tell you 9 times out of ten the child's problem is either directly or indirectly the fault of the parent/parents.
