Waay too cold
Okay you can call me a winter wuss (which I am) but 12 degrees F with a windchill of -6 is a bit too nippy for me. I am just now unthawing from running into work from the garage.
Honestly I don't know how you guys in cold weather states like Minnesota do it. I could *not* deal with it...:scared:

1. That's why even Maryland was too cold for me.
I'll take heat and the humidity over bone-chilling, finger numbing cold any day. At least I have a pool I can easily jump into in the former circumstance.

12. I'm a heat And humidity kinda guy, too
:D

If it gets below 80% humidity, that's a "dry" day for me :P
And, if it's really "dry" I'm a static monster; I have to "ground" before touching anything electronic...

The great thing about the heat is that you can take clothing off if you're too hot, or jump in a nice pool/swimmin' hole :D

2. You and me both
I walked out on the porch to let the dogs out and turned around and came right back in. I watched from the window to see when they were ready to come in. It didn't take them long to do their business!

10. Beautiful state.
We had -50F wind chills here once. That can get your attention.

Now if you want to clinch all over, on Mt Washington the wind chill is -52F with wind gusts to 100mph.

No, you're not a wuss. If you're not use to polar, it isn't easy to deal with.

18. I remember doing a preflight walkaround at O'Hare one January.
It was 5 a.m, dark, and it's the coldest I've ever been.
Don't remember what the temp/wind chill was, but it was waaayyyy low.
I could only make my way around about 1/4 of the 727 before I started to shake violently and had to step back inside the terminal and warm up for a few minutes.
Then back out and pick up where I'd left off, then back inside to warm up again.

When I entered the plane and the cockpit, it was ice cold.
Somebody had turned off the APU, so the bird sat there with no power or heat all night.
The lavs and potable water tank were frozen solid.
Took us a couple of hours to get everything thawed out.

27. Very cold and windy for the DC area
I went to College in Galesburg, IL where a windchill of -6 is balmy......

The coldest I remember it being around here was during Reagan's second inauguration which ended up being held indoors. The Parade was held at the Capitol Center.

My folks are here from Wilmington, NC and they haven't seen this sort of cold for a long time.
