to evangelize you, you start trying to convert them to some other religion? Telling them if they don't believe EXACTLY what this other religion teaches, they're going to hell?

Or has this ever been in a comedy movie, and I missed it?

Not that it takes much to unhinge a mentally unbalanced person.

2. My ex's grandma lectured a Jehovah's Witness once
Forced them to sit at her dining room table for four hours and showed them bible verses to contradict everything in their propaganda. Supposedly, she was extremely convincing and they left full of angst. I'm not sure which part of the story was more creepy.

My daughter was much more effective last time we were bothered by them--she told them our religion happens nekkid around the fire pit in the back yard and they were welcome to join us. They made a beeline down the driveway and stood there trying to undo the mojo until she stepped out again and told them to get lost. I think this may finally have gotten us off their list so we're free to just answer the frickin' door on a Saturday morning.

3. I do that very thing with proselytizing...
I do that very thing with proselytizing political canvassers trying to push their beliefs down my throat at my door and attempting to convert me with some vague, political Truth... they don't like it very much either.

4. I'll try it next time there is a knock on the door.
Something like, you don't take anything else on faith, why the existence of god?

5. It was in a documentary series kind of...
called John Safran vs. God. Well...almost, John Safran knocked on doors in SLC and actually tried to proselytize Mormons to atheism, complete with handbills and a pitch speech at something absurd like 7am because Mormon missonaries knocked on his door at an equally-early hour.

Posted is a link to Richard Dawkins page where he discusses it and a clip can be found.

6. I watched most of that series
It's excellent. The last episode is pretty disturbing with the possession and exorcism. From the looks of things, I think the exorcist hypnotizes people but others may beleive that he really does draw out demons. There's an article about that specific episode floating around, too. I guess the baptist was doing everything possible to get Safran, a jew, to convert to christianity and Safran wasn't having it.

7. My SO tried it on a couple of Jehovah Witnesses...
She grew up with fundies and can easily slip into the jargon.

They were apparently satisfied that she had already been "saved" therefore there was nothing for them to witness.

I, on the other hand either laugh out or grumble, depending on my mood, then slam the door in their faces.

Invites them in and after having gone to their website, challenges them on their critiques and why his christianity vs their beliefs.....Needless to say, JW avoid their house now....

8. Happened almost everyday when I was a missionary.
Got kinda used to the idea that there's a high probability I'm going to hell.
