Mets add Putz to pen
this is HUGH!!!111!!11!!11 I'm SERIES!!11!!!11!!11

LAS VEGAS - The Mets' rapid makeover of the bullpen continued late Wednesday night as they completed a three-team trade with the Mariners and Indians to acquire J.J. Putz in a 12-player deal. Only hours after announcing a three-year, $37-million with Francisco Rodriguez, general manager Omar Minaya secured another elite closer, only this time to use as a set-up man for Rodriguez.

I can hear it now, the first time he gives up a three-run tater: "You Putz!!!" :P

2. Tony Kornheiser had a funny line about this trade on PTI yesterday
"He pronounces it Pootz. It's spelled Putz. New York is not a good place to be named Putz."

3. It's pronounced POOtz
The guy on Sports Center the other day clearly paused before saying POOtz

Yes quite a name for anyone let alone in NYC

6. Putz will be the setup guy
K Rod will be the closer. Had my team won the games in which they lead after the 6th inning, we would have finished 11 games better than the Phillies...

8. Mets are gonna do what the Yank were doing just a few years ago
When they WERE winning championships on a regular basis. Also, one can never have too many arms.
