I'll be singing The Fever for the first time since 1977 next Saturday night (with Cadillac Bob at the El Rey Theater if any Albuquerque area DUers are reading this) and been listening to the great I Don't Wanna Go Home album. But saw Redqueen's post, and remembered that I'd been impressed with the few Mazzy Star songs I'd heard years ago, checked out the you tube link,absolutely loved the song and am planning on listening to some more when I finish my DU-ing ( can that be a verb?) for the evening.

Short-sighted nickname; it's terrific, but not as great as the only two movements of Schubert's 8th, The Unfinished Symphony.

Yesterday, I listened to my new acquisition, Wagner's Symphony in C-major. I had never heard it before, and wondered what to expect. Lots of bombast, diminished minor thirds for horns, trombones, and tubas, I guess. Turned out to be pretty good for a piece of music written by a nineteen year old. But kinda derivative, too. Like it was Wagner's car, but Beethoven was at the wheel.
