3. We had one.
The motor melted the color wheel the second year we used it. Good thing we were home! I'll never buy another one. :scared:

12. I think they all have wheels.
Although the wheel would be clear if the lights are all white. Ours was interchangeable.

 :hi:

7. I had a small one in college
and loved the thing. I'd still use it if it still worked (as a tabletop)

8. I like ours.
I'm not really into trimming trees. We just yank it out of the box and plug it in.

Cool.

10. No more fake than the rest of the Xmas crapola
when decorating for xmas there is a whole lot of sanctimony

xmas gets repulso real fast, and people get MEAN

Almost everybody I know gets defensive/offensive about their false nostalgia memories of what it all should be. Just get your big wheel/red ryder/perfect eggnog and enjoy it. My advice is try not to run up too much credit card debt. I know I will be paying off even a small xmas for months.

practice peace

11. I prefer real
There's a Christmas tree farm about 4 blocks from my house.
We've gone every year for the past 12 years.
It's family owned and operated.
we sometimes bring hot chocolate for our quest for the perfect tree at a reasonable price
it's part of our Christmas traditions.
My sons love picking out the tree and when we get it home the kitties love climbing in the tree.

13. LED Yule Tree lights make a lot of sense
They're cheap, energy efficient, hardly ever burn out, last damned near forever and are unlikely to set your house on fire.

14. It beats killing more trees just for an insane season
Edited on Fri Dec-05-08 06:56 PM by lunatica
And I think fiber optics are great! I wouldn't mind seeing one made totally of fibers along the branches so it would look like solid specs of changing lights. Modern sculpure made in the spirit of saving trees from the yearly slaughter. Funny how we like to think of ourselves as modern and green minded but all that goes out the window when it comes to the custom of having 'real' trees for what, just a week or two.
