He used to make these crosses, or "icons" for his church out of wood, and they were gorgeous. All hand carved, gold leaf, finished in Tung Oil, etc.

I bought one from him...I still have it.

He had a rather unusual way of "selling" or presenting them.

He said "Hey philboy, check out dis fuckin' icon I made. I sell dem to raise money for my fuckin' church. Wanna fuckin' buy one"?

I kid you not. How can you resist a sales pitch like that?

Every Christian is flawed, just like every secular person. However we do have a path that can help us to recognize our flaws.

But to believe our salvation is based on some act, or rightousness of ourselfs, is to deny the grace of God.

However, to use that as an excuse to offend others, is to not realize our possibilities, the ability to find the better person in us, given to us, through the spirit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
