Music fans...Does your brain work this way?
All day today, I've was singing this snatch of a song in my head: "Over and over, Over and over." I was totally getting gnawed up by it, wondering "Why the hell am I singing this? What song is it? Did I hear it yesterday?"

Then, this pm, another bit came to me: "Oh, you can depend on me, Over and over....." Hmmm....is that a woman singing? What the hell?

THEN, it came rushing in. Jackson Browne was singing it. But it wasn't a Jackson Browne song was it? Oh yes it was.

I was singing it, apparently, because I watched that news clip on Darryl Hannah and the anti-whaling effort I read on DU at 7:30 this morning.

Bizarre.

1. On another board I used to post to...
There was a user whose sigline was "It's only life after all..." And although I could hear that lyric over and over in my head, I could not recall what the song, or the artist was, and it drove me crazy.

2. Hmmm...thanks...
Don't need another puzzlement, but at least I'm coming by it fair and square. I'm pretty sure I didn't consciously remember that Ms. Hannah was in this video lip-syncing the high part this morning and wonder "What was that song?" and then have it come to me. Instead, she triggered the memory of the melody I couldn't place. I probably haven't thought about this song--much less heard it--in about 20 years.

Back to you...did you ever find out what it was? Dylan and Pink Floyd are coming to mind, but I have clue.

:hi:

5. She's in the clip....pretending (?) to sing the high part
Like you, it's the last JB song I would have thought of had I just thought of him.

6. I know she used to play keyboards for him, so maybe she is singing the high part.
After all, it *is* a very overdubbed part of the song. :)

I had a student by that name this morning and the song has been in my head ever since.

Then this one pops shortly after...

8. Most days when I wake up the first thought I have is about music.
A piece of lyrics or a certain hook, riff or melody. If I know the song I play it that day. If not I go nuts until I can remember. And then I play it. :)
